05-17-2010-Southern Lake Huron
Capt. Ken Deaton of J-Lyn Charters reports from Harbor Beach:
Fishing is great! Now that the winds and weather have settled back down
the fish are on the bite big time!
Lake Trout are being taken straight out South and North of the harbor on
Dodgers and Spin and glows fished right down on the bottom. Put out
some medium size spoons off the downriggers as well. Offshore boards
with lead lines or regular line with the new Offshore weights are
working well with spoons. Best colors are glow in the dark, pink with
white dots, silver, green, and black colors. Work the 60 to 105 foot of
water areas for best results.
Some Coho, Pink, and King Salmon are being taken mixed in with the Lake
Trout using medium and magnum size spoons off the boards and downriggers
from 30 to 70 foot down in the same depth of water.
There have been some Walleye taken off the North wall early morning and
late evening casting small body baits. Try the perch, silver and green
colors.
Get out there and enjoy the outdoors, go fishing and don’t forget to
take a kid fishing with you! Memories are made to remember and they
will last a life time!
Keep those lines tight,
Captains Ken and Janice Deaton
