Capt. Ken Deaton of J-Lyn Charters reports from Harbor Beach:

Limits of Lake Trout continue to be taken straight out, South and North of the harbor on Dodgers and Spin and glows fished right down on the bottom. Put out some medium size spoons off the downriggers as well. Offshore boards with lead lines or regular line with the new Offshore weights are working well with spoons. Best colors are glow in the dark, pink with white dots, silver, green, and black colors. Work the 80 to 105 foot of water areas for best results.

Coho, Pinks, and King Salmon are still being taken mixed in with the Lake Trout using medium and magnum size spoons off the boards and downriggers from 30 to 70 foot down in the same depth of water.

Steelhead are being taken on the color lines using Dodgers with Spin and Glows or flys, and also spoons. Bright colors are working best, fish them way back off the Offshore boards for best results.

There still some Walleye being taken off the North wall early morning and late evening casting small body baits and small spoons. Try the perch, silver and green colors.

Get out there and enjoy the outdoors, go fishing and don’t forget to take a kid fishing with you! Memories are made to remember and they will last a life time!

Keep those lines tight,

Captain Steve Hamilton of First Class Charters reports from Manistee.

Fishing was OK for us today considering the last week has been so cold and
rainy and lots of wind.
We had a mixture of Salmon, Steelhead and Lake Trout. Fished straight out of
the harbor from 125 to 375 ft., our top numbers were 12 to 16. Used lead
core-10 to 15 colors, riggers were down as far as 100 to 150 ft. There was
really no pattern, used a variety of lures: Pro King Mag Hornet, Stinger
mixed veggies and Hello Darlin-DW Super Slim. White flashers worked good
with lighter green flys. Also used the bigger trolls on the bottom for Lake
trout.

The Salmon fingerling’s from our Manistee net pen project were released on
05/14, they doubled in size and were very healthy.

Spoon bite and Spin Doctors *White” with an Aqua Gold fly. The magnum spoons been good too, “Green Glo” Fishing should only get better as we get some nice weather coming in.
