Capt. Ken Deaton of J-Lyn Charters reports from Harbor Beach:

Limits of Lake Trout are still being taken straight out, North and South of the harbor on Dodgers and Spin and glows fished right down on the bottom. Continue using the medium and large size spoons off the downriggers as well. Best colors continue to be glow in the dark, purple, pink with white dots, yellow, green, and black colors. Work the 70 to 130 foot of water areas for best results.
Pinks, Coho and King Salmon are still being taken mixed in with the Lake Trout using medium and magnum size spoons off the boards and downriggers from 30 to 70 foot down in the same depth of water. Try adding Tadpole weights with spoons off the Offshore boards to get the lines down deeper.
Steelhead are being taken out on the color lines in 80 to 140 feet of water, try the new Offshore Tadpoles on with your monofilament lines to get them down deeper. The Offshore boards are also working well with 5 and 10 color lead lines with bright color spoons.
Perch fishing is still on the slow side try by the Light House and along the channel inside the harbor with minnows and night crawlers. You might want to try South of the harbor by the cemetery in 20 to 50 feet of water as well.
Walleye fishing is slow, try off the North wall early morning and late evening casting small body baits and spoons. Try the green, purple, silver and blue colors. Also try trolling out in 20 to 60 feet of water with crawler harnesses, small spoons and small body baits.

Bass and Pike are being taken inside the harbor and close to shore casting small body baits and spoons.

Keep those lines tight,
Captain Ken and Captain Janice Deaton

Put out some medium size spoons off the downriggers as well. Offshore boards with lead lines or regular line with the new Offshore weights are working well with spoons. Best colors are glow in the dark, pink with white dots, silver, green, and black colors. Work the 80 to 105 foot of water areas for best results.

Capt. Ken Deaton of J-Lyn Charters reports from Harbor Beach:
Well, the wind is to go down this weekend and when it does you will want to try fishing in 40 to 80 foot of water. Lake Trout should be setting on the bottom so try those dodgers with spin and glows and some medium size spoons. Blue, green, yellow, and silver colors should work best. Don’t forget to put out those Offshore boards with some body baits and spoons in the same colors. Put out some of those brighter colors off the boards to try for some Steelhead as well.

There were some reports of some nice walleye being taken off the North wall casting body baits. Try trolling in closer to shore with small to medium size body baits and small spoons for some walleye and Brown Trout.

Keep those lines tight!
