Captain Ed Stowe of Stowaway Charters reports from Ludington:

The fishing is still on the slow side. We got a Northwest wind and it turned the water over on the point but the fish have not found the cold water yet. The salmon are elusive and the bite is early in the AM, and then again at around 9:30 AM. The temperature at the point is 51 on the surface and 45 down 55ft. Meat rigs are the baits of choice, with spinnies and flies a close second. 100and 200 coppers and low wire divers from 100′ back to 150′ are also producing. Best fishing is from the Project up to the three bears in from 100 ft out to the 4400 numbers. 3, 5, 7, and 10 cores tipped with the standard steelie baits and Superslim SOGs and Dolphins and Moonshine Do De Ks on the riggers and divers are all working.

Captain Ed Stowe of Stowaway Charters reports from Ludington:

The fishing has slowed down in the last week. If you have Flea-flicker rods now is the time to use them. The fleas are as bad as ever with the warm water. The salmon are elusive and the bite is early in the AM if at all. The temperature at the point is 62 on the surface and 58 down 95 ft. The fish are spread all over the water column. Meat rigs are the baits of choice, with spinnies and flies a close second. 300 and 400 coppers and low wire divers from 175′ back to 275′ are also producing. Best fishing is from the Project up to the three bears in from 100 ft out to the 4400 numbers. 2, 3, 5, 7, and 10 cores tipped with the standard steelie baits and dolphins on the riggers and divers are all working out in the deep waters.

Captain Ed Stowe of Stowaway Charters reports from Ludington:

Hola, Back from the Mayan Resort and Spa 100 miles south of Cancun. My daughter got married in a destination ceremony and Sue and I vacationed for a week. Went out on a charter and caught my first Sailfish, 9 1/2 ft and 95 lbs. Very exciting and lots of fun.

The fishing has slowed considerably in the last week. The salmon are elusive and on the smaller side. The temperature at the point is 62 on the surface and 48 down 95 ft. The fish are spread all over the water column. Meat rigs are the baits of choice, with the old Lake Trout favorites producing as well. Best fishing is from the brine well up to the three bears in from 80 ft out to the 4400 numbers. It is a bitter pill to swallow when you have to run 25 miles out to catch fish, especially with gas prices as high as they have ever been. We have to add a gas surcharge for those long runs.

Captain Ed Stowe of Stowaway Charters reports from Ludington:

The Kings are from the three sisters to north of the point to the three bears. There are a lot of nets from the 5250 #s to the 5050 #s. Dreamweaver Super Slim Mixed Veggies, Red Monkey Puke, Green Dolphin and Blue Dolphin are all working right now. Glo UV spinnies and Noseeum flies on the wire divers. Yeck Lightnings and PoleKats are good bets for the spring kings either on the riggers or behind the 5 color or 10 color cores and coppers. The water in the Lake is super clear so we have to get the baits far behind the boards.

White spinnies and Noseeum flies on the wire divers. Yeck Lightnings and Whopper Stompers are good bets for the spring kings either on the riggers or behind the three color or 5 color cores and coppers.
